Matt’s Story

My story is not that of the typical seminarian. After growing up unchurched, I was unsatisfied with my options for growing in Bible literacy, theology, and doctrine in my local church. After exhausting self study, I felt the call to seminary and in 2015, I attended Liberty University where I earned a Masters of Arts in Theology and Biblical Studies.

I have been a first responder since 2007, serving twelve years in law enforcement as a patrol officer and canine handler. In 2018, I left law enforcement to become a career firefighter.

While my passion is for all people to love and follow Jesus, I have an especially strong burden for my brother and sister first responders.

I also teach Old Testament, New Testament, and Theology for Southeastern University as an adjunct professor.
